Surf Club Facility Program 25/26 – Category 2
Grant Application Success!

1st April 2026

Most recently we were successful in our Surf Club Facility Program 25/26 – Category 2, grant application process. We are very excited to announce that our submission was successful, and we have gratefully accepted a substantial amount of funding to support the project design phase for a new club building and facilities.

Here is a brief overview of what has occurred to date:
– Thorough Due diligence report established using subject matter expert data.
– Council consultation.
– Architect firm engagement for phase one and two – concept planning and DA process.
– Brief established and drafted.
– Funding grant secured for the purpose of assisting us to the DA phase.
– Architect currently initiating early concept plans and renders.

What’s next?
– Multifaceted and professional, member and community consultation process.
– Concept adoption.
– DA establishment.
– DA lodgement.
– Once DA has been approved we will establish a grant and finance acquisition process based on draft planning that is currently underway.

As you can see, there are a lot of steps in this complex process. The board is looking forward to keeping our members, neighbours, and the wider community, well informed as we accomplish exciting milestones along the way.

Keeping our members and the community well informed of the facts relating to this project’s progress is integral to success. As such, we encourage you to stay updated with factual progress via the Board Report each month. The Club’s monthly board report can be accessed via the Document Library in the SLS Member Hub.
As a rule, if it’s not in the Board Report, it wasn’t discussed or there hasn’t been any reportable progress.
We look forward to reporting progress on this exciting project.
