The transition from nipper to youth member at North Avoca SLSC

The Youth surf sports competition is an exciting part of being involved in the club and is one aspect that attracts and keeps many members involved. Not only is it adrenaline pumping fun, our youth aim to develop skills, abilities and confidence to become our future lifesavers.

As our North Avoca Youth enhancing their relevant fitness and skills, we see them transition from the Nipper surf sports program and now compete in competition as open competitors in Branch and State competitions, while for the first also being eligible to compete at the Australian SLS Titles.

As an U17 youth age group we also see the introduction of the ski into competitions and being able to explore the surf boats and IRB racing competitions.

Our North Avoca Youth training occurs each week:

  • Board – Tuesday and Thursday
  • Ironperson – Saturday
  • Ski – Sunday
