Swim Proficiency required to start nippers

To ensure the safety of nippers to participate in water activities a swim proficiency will need to be completed. Proficiency swims for the 2020 / 2021 season will be held on Sunday 18th October 2020.

At a minimum, the completion of the Preliminary Evaluation is required to participate in nippers. To compete at carnivals or participate at board and swim training, the Competition Evaluation must be completed.

For some new nippers, or those moving up to the U9 age group an open water swim proficiency can seem a little daunting. Rest assured at North Avoca SLSC, our proficiency swims are well designed to allow all children to feel safe at all times. We provide ample water safety to encourage and motivate the nippers whilst ensuring their safety. Once completed, for those nervous nippers, the open water swim proficiency provides them with a burst of confidence and pride!
