Join our IRB Team and hone your skills at North Avoca SLSC
North Avoca has a number of crews that participate in the NSW IRB Premiership. These events are very prestigious attracting teams from Sydney, Central Coast, North and South Coast. Inflatable Rescue Boats (IRBs) are an integral part of surf life saving and require considerable skills to drive and crew. Crews use these carnivals as a means to hone their rescue skills in single and team events. It is very exciting to watch the IRBs race out through the surf break, pick up patients and return to shore.
Our team performs surf rescues in all kinds of surf and weather conditions. We are called upon to perform many other tasks and duties including helping with the Bronze candidates training schedule, assisting with the Nippers program and water safety for events such as Ocean swims.
