Life Membership Summary – Chris Bowden

We are proud to announce that Chris Bowden has been awarded Life Membership of North Avoca SLSC at our recent Annual General Meeting, held on the 26^th July 2026.

Chris has provided long-term active service to North Avoca SLSC, including sustained patrol service, patrol leadership and member education contribution over many seasons.

• involvement in Bronze Medallion, Surf Rescue Certificate, First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation and requalification activity;

Summary of distinguished service

Chris’s contribution is not limited to ordinary patrol attendance. His nomination identified a sustained pattern of service across patrol operations, training, assessing, member development and leadership.

A significant part of Chris’s contribution has been through education and member development. He has assisted in developing and maintaining the skills of members required for patrol service, including training, assessment, requalification and support for newer members.

Chris has also contributed to the culture and effectiveness of his patrol by providing leadership, reliability and support to other members.
