Congratulations Gold Medallion Recipients

22nd March 2026

Congratulations to Kim Findlay who completed her assessment on Sunday 22nd March, and was successfully awarded her SLS Gold Medallion!!
The Gold Medallion is an SLSA Award, it is the pinnacle of surf lifesaving.
If you can achieve your Gold Medallion, you are among the fittest and most capable lifesavers on the beach.

To pass the Gold Medallion candidates need to complete all of the following activities in the one day;
– Swim 800m in under 14 minutes, in an open-water course not more than 400m in length, unaided and in freestyle.
– Complete a mission test of a 400m swim, 800m run, 400m board paddle, 800m run in under 25 minutes.
– Complete a tube rescue of an unconscious patient 100m out at sea.
– Complete a board rescue of a novice swimmer 200m out at sea.
– Perform a complex patient rescue, including selecting equipment, returning patient to shore and treating patient appropriately and completing post operational requirements.

Candidates must also display a sense of urgency equal to a real situation in all rescue activities.

Also a special shout out to Brodie and Ella who were awarded their Gold Medallions earlier in the season, and Lachlan achieved his re-qual.
We are very proud of you all, and our club is lucky to have such experienced lifesavers in our ranks, and protecting those in the water at our beach.

Well done!
